Mediterranean Diet, study found that people who ate a Mediterranean like diet were less likely to have brain infarcts, or small areas of dead tissue linked to thinking problem.

Mediterranean diet style is one rich in olive oil, whole grains, fish and fruit.
Other studies have already found that Mediterranean diet also lower risks for depression, cancer, heart disease and premature death.
The Mediterranean diet includes high intake of vegetables, legumes, fruits, cereals, fish and monounsaturated fatty acids such as olive oil; low intake of saturated fatty acids, dairy products, meat and poultry; and mild to moderate amounts of alcohol.

The Mediterranean diet latest study was led by Dr. Nikolaos Scarmeas, an associate professor of neurology at Columbia University Medical Center, New York City.
